PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a falling prevention member which enables reduction of a wire diameter and the number of used wires, and to obtain a lighting device including the falling prevention member.SOLUTION: A falling prevention member 30 includes a wire 40 having a supported part 40a supported by a support part 61 at one side and a connected part 40b connected to a falling protection object 20 at the other side. The falling prevention member 30 includes a wire holding member 50 which is fixed to the wire 40 so that relative movement of one end part 41a and the other end part 41b of a deflection part 41 is restricted in a state where the wire 40 is deflected so as to form the deflection part 41 in the middle of an area from the supported part 40a to the connected part 40b. The wire holding member 50 has a fragile part 54 which is formed at a part of the wire holding member 50 so as to have breaking strength lower than the other part and breaks so as to allow relative movement of the one end part 41a and the other end part 41b of the deflection part 41.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
