PURPOSE: To facilitate the stoppage of a rotor at a position where a starting torque can be generated while the aggravation of vibration in an axial direction created at the time of rotation is avoided.

CONSTITUTION: An erected part 26 extended from a stator yoke plate 24 is provided in an anuular trench 56 formed between a rotor magnet 50 and a circumferential wall 44. The erected part 26 is made to face the rotor magnet 50 radially. A rotor can be stopped at the position where a starting torque can be generated by exciting a stator coil 34 by a magnetic attraction force between the erected part 26 and the rotor magnet 50. While a fan motor is in a rotating state, the magnetic attraction force between the erected part 26 and the rotor magnet 50 prevents the vibration in the axial direction of the fan motor from being aggravated.
