To provide an easy-to-clean electric fan.SOLUTION: An electric fan 1 comprises a grille 6 formed so as to be capable of exposing a fan 5 partially or wholly, a grille opening/closing detection part 7 for detecting whether or not the grille 6 exposes the fan 5 partially or wholly, a motor driving unit 12 for controlling a motor of a motor part 4 for driving the fan 5, and a control unit 10 for controlling the motor driving unit 12 so as to be capable of driving the motor of the motor part 4 when the grille opening/closing detection part 7 detects that the grille 6 does not expose the fan 5 partially or wholly, and controlling the motor driving unit 12 so as to stop the motor of the motor part 4 when the grille opening/closing detection part 7 detects that the grille 6 exposes the fan 5 partially or wholly.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
