To solve problems in a conventional grain dryer utilizing a far-infrared heater constituted to radiate far-infrared rays by the heat generation of the heater by continuous current application, which makes power consumption large and causes a problem in drying efficiency, and furthermore the continuous heat generation of the far-infrared heater causes the excessive temperature rise of grain to impair taste, degrade quality, or the like.
In this far-infrared grain dryer, the far-infrared heater 2 disposed in a drying chamber 1 and connected to a control means 3 is constituted to generate a drying heat source while ON-OFF control is repeated in a preset cycle, and the control means 3 is constituted to change the ON-OFF cycle according to the held amount of grain.
