Abstract:
To provide a fast-acting pharmaceutical oral composition useful as a therapeutic agent of diabetes.
The fast-acting pharmaceutical oral composition contains a calcium salt of a benzylsuccinic acid derivative of formula (I) or a hydrate thereof as an active ingredient. The disintegrability of the composition and the elutability of the active ingredient are improved by adding silicon dioxide or a partially pregelatinized starch to the pharmaceutical composition to provide rapid manifestation of the effects and to suitably ameliorate the hyperglycemia state after the meal. The pharmaceutical composition does not cause the change of the composition to provide excellent long-term preservation.
