Abstract:
PURPOSE: To make a reactor vessel smaller, to improve the reliability of an apparatus, to simplify the whole of a system and to obtain the structure of a tank-type fast breeder reactor of low cost.
CONSTITUTION: Primary cooling system pump equipment wherein a rotatable part of a pump which has an impeller 15 rotating coaxially with a turntable 16 rotated by a rotating magnetic field is incorporated just below a reactor core 3, a stator 19 generating the rotating magnetic field is provided on the outer wall side of the walls of a reactor vessel 2 and the rotatable part of the pump inside the reactor vessel is rotated by the coupling of an electromagnetic force generated by the rotating magnetic field of the stator 19, is constructed. By this construction, a problem of sodium resistance of electric apparatus elements in relation to the pump is eliminated. Besides, a piercing part of a roof slab 9 and a space for installation of the pump are dispensed with and it becomes possible to dispose intermediate heat exchangers 5 densely in the area of a high-temperature plenum 7. Accordingly, the reactor vessel 2 is made smaller, the reliability of an apparatus is improved, the whole of a system is simplified and the structure of a tank-type fast breeder reactor of low cost is obtained.
