Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fast reverse rotation method for an engine of single current scavenging-air type large-sized two-stroke diesel engine.SOLUTION: In accordance with this invention, a plurality of outlet valves of an engine are released in a prescribed sequence under a state in which an engine speed is slower than a prescribed rotation limited speed at the first brake stage and the released outlet valves are kept in released state till end of the first brake stage. At the second brake stage, at least all such outlet valves are closed simultaneously to prevent scavenging-air from passing through a scavenging-air slit in the cylinder, its related piston is kept under a compression stroke state in a crank angle range from 0° to 180°, the engine is rotated in a rotating direction opposite to the first rotating direction at a kick-start stage subsequent to the second brake stage.SELECTED DRAWING: None
