PURPOSE: To enable continuous sewing collectively including the sewing-on operation of a fastener, and to improve sewing efficiency without requiring a skillful technique by forming a sewing seem on a lower surface cloth in such a condition that an upper surface cloth has been turned over, and also by moving the final sewing seam of the lower surface cloth in a position being out of place from the edge of the upper surface cloth, so that the sewing seam can be formed on the upper surface cloth from the lower surface cloth.

CONSTITUTION: When the subject sewing machine is started, a pressing foot PF is abutted on the upper surface of a lower surface cloth A2. Next, an upper surface cloth A1 is turned over, and also the lower surface cloth A2 is fixedly pressed down, and then sewing of a first side part being overlapped with a fastener F is started. On this side of the sewing terminal end of the first side part, a cloth turning-over plate T engages a cloth-hitting part T1 with the edge of the upper surface cloth A1 being turned over so as to be held, so that a cloth contacting part P is set apart from the opening end part. Then at the final needle- sticking point of the first side part, the final sewing seam is formed in a position being out of place by one needle. And the edges of the upper surface cloth and the lower surface cloth are overlapped, and sewing of the lower edge part is carried out in continuation with the final sewing seam of the first side part. Then sewing of the second part being the overlapped part of the upper surface cloth A1 and the fastener F is carried out to finish a series of sewing.
