Title:
FASTENING CORD FOR TIRE ANTISKID DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH10157426
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To prevent a cord fastening an edge of an antiskid device to the center direction of a tire from being cut by fixing fittings without increasing the outer dia. of the cord by composing the cord of a core material formed of a fiber bundle made of aramid fiber penetrating along the axis of the cord, and a rubber material covering the circumference of the core material.

A fastening cord 1 fixed along the inner edge of a tire antiskid device is arranged to fasten the inner edge of the body of the device according to the fastening of a fastening means. This cord 1 is formed of a core material 1a composed of six stranded cords 1a' brought into close contact with each other and made of aramid fiber and a rubber material 1b covering the circumference of the core material 1a is provided in a thick form to provide a cord-like body having a specified outer dia. With use of such aramid fiber having a high tensile property for the core material 1a, the thickness of rubber material serving as an outer cover can be increased without changing the outer dia. of the cord 1, and thereby the pressure contact force applied to part of the cord 1 by fixing fittings when it is caulked therewith can be dispersed and absorbed by the rubber material 1a.
