To provide a fastening device and a fastening method, for fastening members to be connected each other, in a short time, without selecting kinds thereof, not requiring skillness, and for reducing a burden to a worker.
This fastening device 1 includes the plurality of fastening members 2, 3 to be connected, a cylindrical connecting member 4 inserted into connecting member insertion holes 2a, 3a drilled in the plurality of fastening members 2, 3 to be connected, a mandrel sealing part 5 inserted into a cylindrical part 4a formed in the connecting member 4, and having a delivery port 51b for delivering a high-pressure liquid into the cylindrical part 4a, on its outer circumferential face 51a, and a high-pressure liquid supply source 6 for supplying the high-pressure liquid to the mandrel sealing part 5, and fastens the plurality of fastening members 2, 3 to be connected, by the connecting member 4. The connecting member 4 diameter-enlarged by the high-pressure liquid delivered from the delivery port 51b, and an outer cylindrical face 4b is pressed onto inner wall face 2b, 3b of the connecting member insertion holes 2a, 3a of the plurality of fastening members 2, 3 to be connected, and is joined thereto.
