Abstract:

To provide a fastening method and a fastening structure using plastic flow, in which product accuracy is secured by suppressing deformation of a cross section of a material.

On a peripheral edge of a flange part 3 of a shaft member 2, stress adjusting teeth 9, 10 are provided for increasing the residual stress to be applied to the portions, at which the residual stress of a flange member 4 becomes smaller than at the other portions due to the plastic flow of the material. Accordingly, the residual stress applied to the flange member 4 is adjusted by each of the stress adjusting teeth 9, 10, so that the residual stress applied to the flange member 4 is uniformized. Thus, the cross section in a plane perpendicular to the axis of the shaft member 2 is prevented from being deformed into almost an elliptical shape due to a bias of the residual stress of the flange member 4, so that the product accuracy is secured.
