To provide a fastening nail having a corrosion-resistant property in a protective metallic layer discontinuous area by forming the nail of a carbon steel wire pre-coated with a protective metallic layer having a corrosion-resistant property and sticking a protective metallic cap to a head part in which the protective metallic layer is discontinuous.

A nail 10 is formed of a carbon steel wire W pre-coated with a protective metallic layer L having a corrosion-resistant property. The produced nail 10 is covered with the protective metallic layer L along a shank part 12 excepting a sharp end part, in which the protective metallic layer L is discontinuous, and excepting a head part 16 area 18. A part of a corrosion-resistant protective metallic cap C is welded to the head part 16 so as to cover the head part 16 area 18 in which the protective metallic layer L is discontinuous. Either of the protective metallic layer L and the protective metallic cap C is preferably made of chromium, nickel, zinc, aluminum, or an alloy comprising zinc and aluminum.
