Abstract:

To efficiently measure the fat amount of a predetermined site of a living body.

This fat amount measuring device 1 includes a site detecting part 12 for detecting a predetermined position in the waist part of a subject, and detecting the predetermined site in the waist part using the detected position; an electrode position determining part 13 for determining a plurality of positions along the vertical direction of the waist part for measuring bioimpedance on the body surface of the predetermined site detected by the site detecting part 12; an impedance measuring part 16 for measuring bioimpedance by bringing impedance measuring electrodes into contact with the respective determined positions; and an abdominal fat amount computing part 18 for copmputing the fat volume of the predetermined site based on the respective bioimpedances in the plurality of positions measured by the impedance measuring part 16 and the waist part size of the predetermined site.
