Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a fat mixture useful to allow an infant to properly ingest nutrition and to promote growth and development and also fit for alimentotherapy of an adult troubled with cirrhosis by specifying the ratio among oleic acid, linolic acid and α-linolenic acid.
CONSTITUTION: Fats are blended so as to regulate the ratio among oleic acid, linolic acid and α-linolenic acid to (30-80):(3-20):(0.3-3). It is preferable that phospholipid from the cerebrum of a calf or pig is mixed with oil selected from among olive oil, soybean oil and corn oil, animal fat and medium chain triglyceride obtd. by refining fish oil and/or vegetable oil so as to regulate the ratio among oleic acid, linolic acid and α-linolenic acid to the above- mentioned range, the ratio between arachidonic acid and docosahexaenoic acid to (0.1-2):(0.1-3) and the phospholipid content to 23.8-81.5 mg/dl.
