Abstract:

To provide a separation image of clearing a frequency artifact by nonuniformity of a magnetostatic field, in imaging a water-fat separation image using an SSFP sequence in medium-low magnetic field MRI.

A magnetic resonance (MR) image is made by selecting water and fat of a balanced state of steady free precession motion (SSFP). An acquired SSFP signal is separated into a multiple echo component. In this multiple echo component, phase arrangement between a water signal and a fat signal is controlled by properly selecting TR and TE values of an SSFP imaging sequence. Influence of nonuniformity of the field is corrected from this separated echo component, and a water image and a fat image are selected.
