Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine the proper replacing timing of a turbocharger, by determining a degree of fatigue of the turbocharger in response to an actual operation state of an engine.
SOLUTION: This method diagnoses fatigue failure of the turbocharger 5, and determines the fatigue failure of the turbocharger 5 by comparing an arithmetically operated accumulation fatigue value Ft with a predetermined fatigue limit value F1 by arithmetically operating the accumulation fatigue value Ft on the basis of a measured rotating speed by measuring the rotating speed of the turbocharger 5.
