Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a pharmaceutical agent that contains monosodium glutamate as a main therapeutic component, can control the accumulation of lactic acid in vivo during exercise without functional loss. CONSTITUTION: This pharmaceutical agent for treating fatigue comprises monosodium glutamate(MSG) as a major therapeutic component, in addition, solid or liquid components that can be taken in and excipient. MSG or its composition is dosed 0.01-0.4g/kg body weight/day 30 minutes to 3 hours before heavy exercise, preferably 30 minutes to 2 hours before to secure the maximum fatigue recovery. In the case that it is used in a liquid composition, for example, soup, soft drink, health drink and the like, MSG, sugar and mixed electrolytes are preferably used in amounts of 0.2-0.5wt.%, 1-3wt.% and 0.02-0.04M, respectively. In the case of vitamin tablets, MSG is used in an amount of 0.2-10wt.%.
