Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the convenience of a faucet device that controls water discharging and cutoff from a water discharge head, using an acceleration sensor installed on the water discharge head.SOLUTION: A faucet device comprises: acceleration detection means installed on a water discharge head; opening/closing means that opens and closes a flow channel of the water discharge head; and control means that controls the opening/closing means. The control means determines whether a "tap" operation has been performed with the water discharge head on the basis of acceleration detected by the acceleration detection means. The conditions for determining that a "tap" operation has been performed with the water discharge head are: that the peak of change of acceleration in the prescribed direction detected by the acceleration detection means was reached at an amplitude greater than a first amplitude; that the duration when the change of acceleration immediately before the peak remained below a second amplitude lasted longer than a first prescribed duration; and that the acceleration attenuates immediately after reaching the peak. When a "tap" operation is determined to have been performed based on the determination conditions, the opening/closing means is controlled.
