Abstract:
PURPOSE: To easily carry out a construction work and a maintenance work by internally providing a faucet with a chamber as part of a water passage or a chamber communicated to the water passage, and forming a water hammer absorber mounting section in the chamber.
CONSTITUTION: A water hammer absorber 6 is screwed and connected to a water hammer absorber mounting chamber 3 in the faucet body 10 of a faucet 1, and the opening 6a of the absorber 6 is kept communicated and connected to the chamber 3a. When a water stop mechanism 5 is close, feedwater pressure is applied to the chamber 3 and acts on the pressure receiving surface of a piston 6c. As a result, the piston 6c is pushed back and stops at the position where the feedwater pressure and the energizing force of a coil spring 6d balance with each other. Also, when the mechanism 5 is open, the internal pressure of the chamber 3 drops and the piston 6c is moved to a position for coming in contact with the opening 6a. As a result, a water hammer generated due to the sudden closure of the stop valve of a washing machine downstream of the faucet 1 collides with the pressure receiving surface of the piston 6c via the opening 6a, thereby absorbing the water hammer.
