Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the sensitivity of a FBG (fiber Bragg Grating) type temperature sensor for sensing an atmospheric temperature using an optical fiber 3 formed in the FBG 2.
SOLUTION: The temperature sensor comprises a bimetallic member 4, the deformation of which varies corresponding to the atmospheric temperature. On the ends of the bimetallic member 4 which are moveable by bending of the bimetallic member, the parts of the optical fiber 3 apart from the FBG 2 are fixed. Tensile stress of the FBG 2 is varied by the bimetallic member 4 corresponding to the change of the atmospheric temperature.
