Title:
FE-NI ALLOY HAVING HIGH STRENGTH AND LOW THERMAL EXPANSION AND EXCELLENT IN HOT WORKABILITY
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH05171357
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To produce an Fe-Ni alloy having high strength and low thermal expansion and excellent in hot workability by preparing an Fe-Ni alloy having a specific composition where the relationship between the contents of B and Nb is specified.

CONSTITUTION: An Fe-Ni alloy which has a composition consisting of, by weight, 0.003-0.02% C, 0.01-2.0% Si, ≤0.01% N, 0.01-3.0% Mn, 30-50% Ni, 0.01-1.0% Cr, 1.0-3.0% Nb, 0.0005-0.010% B, ≤0.01% S, and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities and satisfying the relation in B<15×10-3 (1-0.32Nb) is prepared. By this method, the Fe-Ni alloy having a strength as high as ≥about 250Hv and also having a coefficient of thermal expansion as low as ≤about 10×10-6/°C at about 30-450°C can be obtained.
