Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a feed, available in a short time by utilizing leftover and waste rice, containing a large amount of organic ingredients and having high digestibility by fermenting raw materials comprising cooked rice, a dispersant and soil fungi and rapidly heating, dehydrating and drying the resultant intermediate fermentation product.

CONSTITUTION: This feed is obtained by fermenting raw materials comprising cooked rice, a dispersant (preferably grain flours such as rice bran or dried bean-curd refuse) and soil fungi (preferably those, having an optimal active range of 40-70°C temperature and 40-55% moisture content and comprising plural species of aerobic sporulating ones), then rapidly heating, dehydrating and drying the resultant intermediate fermentation product. The feed is prepared by initially aerating and stirring the raw materials within a temperature range for pregelatinizing starch in the cooked rice, usually at ≥50°C until the moisture content in the raw materials attains ≤40%, fermenting the raw materials, then rapidly heating, dehydrating and drying the resultant intermediate fermentation product, preferably at ≤90°C and regulating the moisture content to ≤20%.
