In this feed rod manufacturing method for manufacturing the feed rod 1 with a wire wound around a surface along the straight-extending rod 2 in a spirally and closely attached condition, the rod 2 is prepared, a coil member 3 which is spirally extended and having the inside diameter in contact with the rod 2 over the entire circumference is prepared as the wire, one end of the rod 2 is inserted in one end of the coil member 3, and the coil member 3 is wound around the rod 2 while feeding it to the other end side of the rod 2 by relatively rotating at least one of the rod 2 and the coil member 3 so that the rod 2 is rotated in the winding direction from one end of the coil member 3 to the other end thereof.
