PURPOSE: To reduce the manufacturing cost of a feed unit and enable the unit to be assembled quickly and checked easily by inserting an electric drive motor for driving the feed member of a pump portion as a structural unit enclosed by a motor casing in a casing can.

CONSTITUTION: A feed unit such as an electric fuel pump of an internal combustion engine has a casing can 11 and a can-shaped casing 10 with a casing connection 13 projecting through a can base 12. A pump portion 14 consisting of a feed member 15 and a suction lid 16 is received in the casing connection 13. An electric drive motor 17 of the feed member 15 is received in the casing can 11. A driven shaft 19 of the electric drive motor 17 is inserted through an opening 18 of the can base 12 and extends to a feed chamber 20 in the casing connection 13. This means that the electric drive motor 17 with a motor casing 21 is inserted in the casing can 11.
