PURPOSE: To obtain a feeder for transplanting needles, consisting of a housing part of a specific structure and a taking out drum and capable of taking out transplanting needles made of a ferromagnetic metal one by one.
CONSTITUTION: Transplanting needles 3 are delivered from a housing part 10 and mounted on grooves 24 of a taking out drum 20 one by one. Thereby the needles can be taken out one by one by a pickup arm 40. The housing part 10 is constituted of permanent magnets having an U-shaped cross section and a spacing narrowed to the tip (part near the taking out drum 20) and respective poles N and S at a regular interval and of the same phase on the surfaces of both magnetic poles. Guide plates (5a) and (5b) are provided on the inside of the above-mentioned magnetic poles N and S. Grooves 24 engageable with the transplanting needles 3 are formed at a regular interval on the peripheral surface of the taking out drum 20.
