To provide a feeding technology capable of enhancing reliability of feeding detection.
A feeding device 10 includes a tray 11 for feeding a livestock, a cylindrical main body 18 disposed above the tray 11, and a detector 12 which is disposed above the tray 11 and detects the feed retained in the tray 11. The cylindrical main body 18 has an inlet 18a for introducing the feed at one position and an outlet 18b for discharging the feed at the other position and is disposed so that the tray 11 is opposite the outlet 18b. The detector 12 has a switch 13 which controls feeding and feeding stop, and an operation plate 14 which causes the switch 13 to operate. The operation plate 14 is provided to reciprocate inside the main body 18 so as to operate upon receiving a pressing force from the feed. A flat face 14a which receives the feed on the operation plate 14 is provided to orthogonally intersect with an inner wall face 18d of the main body 18.
