To suppress the occurrence of idle feeding in a feeding device in which a feed roller abuts on a sheet by rotation of an arm.

A friction member 80 is provided at a bottom plate 51 of a sheet feed tray 14. An upper surface of first opposing portions 81 and 82 which are right and left end portions of the friction member 80 is positioned above an upper surface of a second opposing portion 83 which is a central portion. The first opposing portions 81 and 82 are opposed to first end portions 101 and 103 which are outside feed rollers 23 and 24 in a vertical direction 7. The second opposing portion 83 is opposed to second end portions 102 and 104 which are inside the feed rollers 23 and 24 in the vertical direction 7. When a rotation axis portion 29 of the feed rollers 23 and 24 is deflected (Fig.7(C)), the first end portions 101 and 103 and the second end portions 102 and 104 of the feed rollers 23 and 24 are brought into pressurized contact with a sheet 6, which increases an area of a region where the feed rollers 23 and 24 are in pressurized contact with the sheet 6, so that occurrence of idle feeding is suppressed.
