To provide a female terminal fitting capable of releasing a strain applied in inserting a connector, and stably coming in contact with a male terminal fitting.
A female terminal 1 is housed in the housing 3 of the connector 2, and has a substrate contact 18 and an electric contact 19. The electric contact 19 is provided with a contact body 26 and an elastic piece 27. The contact body 26 has a long cylinder 31, a short cylinder 32, and a flat plate 33. The elastic piece 27 is protruded from the contact body 26, is elastically deformed to urge it into the internal surface of the housing 3, and houses it inside the housing 3 in a displaceable manner. When a male terminal 5 is inserted aslant into the contact body 26, the elastic piece 27 is deformed elastically and the flat plate 33 is bent to make the contact body 26 follow the male terminal 5.
