To provide a fence assembly for a compound circular saw (miter saw) having a saw blade inclining against a horizontal working plane.

A first fence portion 34 is mountable on a saw at the first side of the saw blade. A second fence portion 36 is mountable on the saw at the opposite side of the saw blade, and the saw blade is inclined in its direction. The second fence portion 36 comprises a fixing part 38 mounted on a table surface and an adjustment part 40 mounted on the fixing part and being laterally adjustable so as to close to or part from the saw blade, and as a workpiece is supported in the closest vicinity of the saw blade when the saw blade is provided in a vertical direction and along with this, a sufficient gap is provided in a maximal tilt angle of the saw blade, moving the adjustment part outwardly is permitted. A scale is provided on the fixing part and the adjustment part of the second fence portion, and an inmost position in various tilt angles is indicated.
