To provide a fence coping with a slope allowing a vertical bar to be positively mounted in a single operation to upper and lower furring strips and allowing an angle formed by both furring strips and the vertical bar, to be optionally changed within a predetermined angle range.
A support member 6 comprises a plate spring 7 inserted in the vertical bar 5, with one end fixed to the vertical bar 5, and a claw 8 protrusively provided at the outer surface of the other end of the plate spring 7. An upper opening for the claw 8 to go in and out is provided near the upper end of the vertical bar 5, and a lower opening 5B for the claw to go in and out is provided near the lower end of the vertical bar 5 on the opposite side to the upper opening for the claw. When the vertical bar 5 is inserted in an opening 4A for the vertical bar, a side face 8A of the claw 8 abuts on the opening 4A for the vertical bar to push the claw 8 into the vertical bar 5 against the resilience of the plate spring 7. The claw 8 is then projected from the opening 5B for the claw by the resilience of the plate spring 7 and engaged with the inner surface of the upper/lower furring strips.
