Abstract:
To provide a fender and a method for manufacturing the same, in which friction on a surface is reduced, irregular and large deformation caused by the movement of a ship is suppressed, and damage to itself and a quay is less likely to occur while maintaining a simple structure in which the entire structure is integrally formed with a crosslinked product of the rubber composition without forming a surface layer that tends to be damaged or dropped off.SOLUTION: A fender is composed of a crosslinked product of a rubber composition containing rubber and includes a crosslinked product of the rubber composition and a cured product of the isocyanate group-containing silane compound inside and in the vicinity of a surface, and a cured region exposed on the surface is formed. In a manufacturing method, after impregnating a treatment liquid containing the isocyanate group-containing silane compound inward from the surface of the crosslinked fender, the cured region is formed by curing reaction of the isocyanate group-containing silane compound in the impregnated treatment liquid.SELECTED DRAWING: None
