To provide a method for fermentation composting treatment in which highly hydrated organic waste is fermented and composted by using an open fermentation tank while reducing the amount of a moisture adjusting material to be used and the manufacturing cost of compost and while maintaining high temperature fermentation so that the compost can be manufactured continuously over a long period of time.

The method for fermentation composting treatment comprises the steps of: mixing the moisture adjusting material in the highly hydrated organic waste to obtain the object which is to be treated and has the moisture content suitable for fermentation; throwing the object to be treated in the open fermentation tank 1; heaping the object to be treated up to the height of at least 1 meter to prepare the heaped object as a base layer; spraying the highly hydrated organic waste from a sprayer 3 toward the upper surface of the base layer during fermentation; agitating repeatedly the heaped object with the highly hydrated organic waste by an agitator 2 to ferment the mixed heaped object; spraying the highly hydrated organic waste from the sprayer 3 and agitating the upper layer of the heaped object by the agitator 2 arranged near the sprayer 3 simultaneously; and agitating repeatedly the whole heaped layer composed of upper and lower layer parts of the heaped object by the agitator 2.
