PURPOSE: To contrive to improve the mechanical strength and magnetic characteristics of a ferrite sintered product by mixing ferrite powder coated with a specific organic Al compound with a binder, subjecting to molding, defatting and subsequently sintering the molded mixture.

CONSTITUTION: Ferrite powder is mixed with 0.1-5wt.% of an organic Al compound having at least one Al atom and at least one alkoxy group in the molecule (e.g. acetoxyaluminum diisopropylate) to coat the surface of the ferrite powder with the organic Al compound. The ferrite powder is mixed and kneaded with a binder to form a compound. The compound is injection- or extrusion- molded, followed by defatting and sintering the molded product to provide a ferrite sintered product containing the Al compound in an amount of 0.01-0.4wt.% as Al metal.
