Title:
FERRITIC STAINLESS STEEL HAVING EXCELLENT OXIDATION RESISTANCE AND SECONDARY WORKING BRITTLENESS RESISTANCE, AND STEEL MATERIAL AND SECONDARILY WORKED PRODUCT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2011162843
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a ferritic stainless steel in which oxidation is suppressed even when being used for parts exposed to a high temperature environment of about 1,000°C, and further which has excellent secondary working brittleness resistance.

The ferritic stainless steel has a composition comprising, by mass, ≤0.03% C, 0.3 to 2.0% Si, ≤1.0% Mn, ≤0.04% P, ≤0.01% S, ≤0.2% Ni, 16 to 20% Cr, ≤0.03% N, 0.5 to <2.0% Al, ≤0.3% Nb, 0.0005 to <0.002% B, and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities. and the conditions expressed by ≤5 mg/cm2 oxidation increase after a prescribed continuous oxidation test, ≤-20°C transition temperature by a drop weight test, and also, 2.0≤(0.5WSi+2WAl+100WB)≤5.0 (wherein, WSi, WAl and WB respectively denote the containing ratios (mass%) of Si, Al and B to the total mass of the stainless steel) are satisfied.
