Abstract:
To provide a ferritic stainless steel which exhibits good corrosion resistance even when exposed to a temperature environment of 100 to 300°C.SOLUTION: There is provided a ferritic stainless steel which contains, in mass%, 0.001 to 0.030% of C, 0.01 to 0.30% of Si, 0.01 to 0.30% of Mn, 0.05% or less of P, 0.01% or less of S, 17.0 to 23.0% of Cr, 0.01 to 0.60% of Mo and 0.001 to 0.030% of N and further one or two selected from 0.10 to 0.50% of Ti and 0.10 to 0.50% of Nb with the balance being made up of Fe and unavoidable impurities, wherein [Cr]/[Fe] which is a ratio of the Cr concentration to the Fe concentration in a passive film present on the surface is more than 0.5 and the peak intensity of FeOOH obtained by measuring the passive film by XPS is smaller than the peak intensity of Fe2O3.SELECTED DRAWING: None
