Title:
FERRITIC STAINLESS STEEL AND FERRITIC STAINLESS STEEL SLAB EXCELLENT IN FORMABILITY
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3624732
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce ferritic stainless steel excellent in formability so as to be capable of working a continuously cast slab into a prescribed shape by working such as hot working, bulging working, drawing working, bending working without causing surface defect, cracking or fracture, and to provide the slab.
SOLUTION: This ferritic stainless steel excellent in formability has a chemical compsn. composed of ≤0.02% C, 0.003 to 0.03% N, 0.03 to 1.0% Si, ≤1.0% Mn, ≤0.04% P, ≤0.03% S, 10 to 30% Cr, 0.02 to 0.3% Ti, 0.001 to 0.005% O, ≥0.001% Al, ≤0.015% sol. Al, ≤0.0030% Ca, ≤0.0005% Mg, ≤0.8% Nb, ≤3.0% Mo, and the balance Fe with impurities, in which the composite inclusions of Al inclusions and Ti inclusions are dispersed into the steel. The ferritic stainless steel slab has the above chemical compsn. and has >70 vol.% equiaxed crystal ratio.
