Abstract:

To provide a magnetoresistive element which has larger magnetic sensitivity and its ferromagnetic material as to a magnetoresistive material laminated having a nonmagnetic layer sandwiched between ferromagnetic layers.

The magnetoresistive element is constituted by using the ferromagnetic material which is MnM (M is silicon, germanium, or tin or a combination of ≥2 kinds of them) whose crystal structure has a sphalerite type. More preferably, the ferromagnetic material consists principally of manganese and an M element (M is silicon, germanium, or tin or a combination of ≥2 kinds of them) and has ≥60% spin polarization rate.
