Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prevent the deterioration of the frequency characteristics of the permeability of a dust core by removing prescribed acute projections present on the surfaces of amorphous alloy powder and 'Sendust(R)' alloy powder forming ferromagnetic powder for the dust core.
CONSTITUTION: This ferromagnetic powder for a dust core having a thickness (t) is free from projections having ≤0.5μm curvature radius (r) and >25 ratio of t/r on the surface. When the powder is coated with an insulating layer and compacted to obtain a dust core, the breaking of the insulating layer by projections is prevented and the permeability of the dust core is satisfactorily maintained.
