To provide a ferrule in which uneven radiation of light for hardening an adhesive is reduced and the adhesive is hardened in a short time when an optical circuit substrate on which an optical waveguide is formed and the ferrule in which an optical fiber is inserted are bonded with the photocurable type adhesive.
The ferrule 1a for optical fiber is bonded with the photocurable type adhesive 120 on the end face 102 on the side on which the optical waveguide is open on an optical circuit substrate 101 on which the optical waveguide 110 is formed. The ferrule 1a for optical fiber includes: a wall part 2 which is formed of a translucent material, formed in a flat shape having flat faces (21, 22) on the front and the back, wherein the front face is used as a bonding face to be bonded with the optical circuit substrate; an optical fiber holding part 3 which is integrally formed on the back face of the wall part, extended in the normal line direction of the back face, and has a front face projection area smaller than that of the wall part; and an optical fiber insertion hole 4 which penetrates in the normal line direction through the front face of the wall part and the back end face 31 of the optical fiber holding part.
