PURPOSE: To effectively utilize human excreta and obtain a fertilizer having excellent effect for improving e.g. the taste, flavor and growth rate of crops by mixing human excreta with lime and a porous material, drying and pulverizing the mixture and using the obtained powder as an active component of the fertilizer.

CONSTITUTION: Human excreta are mixed with lime and a porous material (e.g. zeolite). The amounts of lime and the porous material are preferably about 70-130 pts.wt. and about 160-240 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. of human excreta, respectively. The mixture is dried and pulverized and the obtained powder is used as an active component and optionally incorporated with conventional fertilizer additives, etc., to obtain the objective fertilizer. The obtained fertilizer can be used by conventional method such as scattering to the field for the cultivation of crops or for the improvement of soil. The soil-improvement is carried out by laying the straw left after the harvest of the crop on the soil, scattering the fertilizer on the straws and leaving standing the fertilizer in the state.
