Title:
FIBER COMPOSITE MATERIAL AND ITS PRODUCTION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3040229
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To produce a fiber composite material capable of suppressing change of an bonding state of inorganic fibers caused by reheating in molding and showing uniform and excellent strength of product.
CONSTITUTION: A fiber composite material obtained by partially bonding inorganic fibers 2 with a crosslinkable thermoplastic resin 1 and making the resulting material into a nonwoven fiber-mate state having a great number of voids in the whole area. Or a nonwoven fiber mat consisting essentially of the inorganic fibers 2 is successively subjected to a laminating process of superimposing a peroxide-containing thermoplastic film on the nonwoven fiber mat to form a laminate, to a preheating process of preheating the laminate to a temperature ≥ the melt temperature of the resin component and <the decomposition temperature of the peroxide, to a compression process of compressing the laminate in this state and heating the laminate ≥ the decomposition temperature of the the peroxide to process the resin composition into a crosslinked the laminate in this state and increasing the thickness of the laminate.
