Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fiber composite having high transparency, a low water absorption and a low linear expansion coefficient.SOLUTION: A fiber composite includes a fiber of an average fiber diameter of 30 nm or smaller and a matrix material, and the haze, by JIS K7136, of the fiber composite of a thickness of 100 μm is 5 or lower. A method of producing the fiber composite includes of a step of fibrillating a fiber by means of an ultrahigh pressure homogenizer extruding under a pressure of 100 MPa or higher and then reducing the pressure and/or ultrasonic waves of a frequency of 15 kHz to 1 MHz and an effective output intensity of 1 W/cmor higher to obtain a fiber of an average fiber diameter of 30 nm or smaller and a step of forming the fiber of an average fiber diameter of 30 nm or smaller and the matrix material into a composite.
