Abstract:
To provide a fiber opening and classifying apparatus capable of improving classification accuracy.
A fiber opening and classifying apparatus 1, which uses the difference in flying distance due to the difference in mass between opened fiber bodies B1 and B2 to classify them, comprises: a rotatable opening cylinder 2; and a first opening 3b for recovering the fiber bodies caused to fly by the rotation of the opening cylinder. The first opening is arranged at a position which is on the side opposite to the fiber body flying direction side of a tangent line vertically drawn from the end of the opening cylinder on the fiber body flying direction side, and which is below the opening cylinder.
