To provide a glass fiber product having particles adhered to at least one fiber of the product, a composition, and a method for forming the product.
Size and amount of the particles are effective to reduce tackiness of the glass fiber product and optionally effective to reduce interfilament bonding. The necessity of removal of the coating can be eliminated by good lamination strength, good thermal stability, good hydrolysis stability (resistance to migration of water along interface of fiber/polymer matrix material), low corrosiveness and reactivity in a highly humid atmosphere and compatibility with reactive acid and alkali and various kinds of polymer matrix materials. These properties are other desired properties, and one or more of the properties can be developed by a fiber strand coated according to a specific example of the present invention.
