Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a fiber-reactive disazo dye giving the dyeings having high fixation values and good light fastness to leather or fibrous materials consisting of natural or synthetic polyamides or cellulose by possessing a structure represented by a specific formula.
CONSTITUTION: This fiber-reactive disazo dye is present in the form of a compound of formula I [Q1 is H, a 1-4C alkyl, CH2SO3H or COOH; Q2 is H, CN, CONH2 or CH2SO3H; Q3 is H or a 1-4C (substituted) alkyl; R is H, a 1-4C alkyl or two R together form a 1-4C alkylene bridge; X is an aliphatic or aromatic bonding member; Hal is chlorine or fluorine; and the carbonyl carbon in the group CONH is linked with the 3- or 4-positioned phenyl] or in the form of salts thereof. The compound of formula I can be obtained by reacting a compound of formula II (wherein Q1, Q2, Q3 and Hal are the same as defined above) with a compound of formula III (wherein R and X are the same as defined above). The dye is used in dyeing or printing leather or fibrous materials comprising natural or synthetic polyamides or natural or regenerated cellulose to give greenish yellow dyeings.
