Abstract:

To provide a fiber-reinforced ceramic composite material containing a silicon-copper alloy having superior mechanical strength and capable of efficiently producing the same.

The fiber-reinforced ceramic composite material is configured to include a base material portion comprising at least one of silicon carbide and carbon, a reinforcing fiber comprising at least one of a silicon carbide fiber and a carbon fiber, and a filling portion comprising a Cu3Si alloy and silicon. The flexural strength and breaking energy of the fiber-reinforced ceramic composite material are improved by making the weight of the Cu3Si alloy at least 0.5 wt.% and at most 40 wt.% of the total weight of the fiber-reinforced ceramic composite material.
