PURPOSE: To obtain the subject material having low water absorptivity and being excellent in thermoplastic processability, etc., by including reinforcing fibers and a cycloolefin copolymer having a specified structure.
CONSTITUTION: The objective material comprises 1-99 wt.% reinforcing fibers (A) containing 10-90 wt.% glass fibers and 99-1 wt.% cycloolefin copolymer (B) which is built up from (i) at least one polycycloolefin represented by any one of formulas I to VI (wherein R1 to R8 are each H, a 6-16C aryl or a 1-8C alkyl) and (ii) at least one olefin selected from 4-12C monocycloolefins represented by VII (wherein (n) is 2-10) and/or the group of alicyclic olefins of formula VIII (wherein R9 to R12 are each H or a 1-8C alkyl) and in which the monomer units of the polycycloolefin of any one of formulas I to VI are in each case separated by monomer units of a monocycloolefin of formula VII and/or monomer units of the acylic olefin. Both of components A and B constitute 90-10% of the material.
