Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain fiber reinforced formed sheet, the surface of which is hard to be dented or bruised by a method wherein hard skin portion having large flexural rigidity is formed on the surface of porous synthetic resin layer reinforced by glass monofilaments.
CONSTITUTION: A non-air-permeable sheet is obtained by dewatering foam dispersion, which is prepared by mixing particulated thermoplastic resin, reinforcing fibers such as glass monofilaments, on porous substrate by paper-making method, and then solidifying the resultant dispersion. After that, the non-air- permeable sheet is expansion-molded so as to obtain a panel 6 made of porous synthetic resin layer 1. By heating the outer surfaces on the sides opposite to each other of the panel 6, surface layer portions 61 and 61 are softened. By compressing the softened surface layer portions 61 and 61 with pressing templates, skin portions 3 and 3, which are highly densified, are produced.
