Title:
FIBER REINFORCED METAL MATRIX COMPOSITE MEMBER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH04172169
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To produce fiber reinforced metal matrix composite member low in creep deformation by composing one direction oriented continuous fiber and random oriented short fiber at a part receiving compressive stress in the direction of the stress.

CONSTITUTION: The fiber reinforced metal matrix composite member receiving compressive stress is made up so that two kinds of layers of one direction oriented continuous fiber 6 at a part 5 receiving compressive stress in the direction of stress and random oriented short fiber 7 are composed in the matrix. In this way, the creep deformation is reduced at a part where compressive stress of a casting member is actuated and the fiber reinforced composite member high in strength can be obtained at that part.
