Abstract:
PURPOSE: To attain the reducing of cost and the miniaturizing of the circuit scale of a picture signal compression processing circuit for allowing various picture signals to be displayed while compressing them arbitrarily.
CONSTITUTION: Respective constitutions of a horizontal filter 11 and a vertical filter 12 one with respect to compression ratios and interpolating filters FH2, FV2 having two taps whose coefficient values are successively changed with respect to one compression ratio. Thus, since ROMs can be eliminated in coefficient controls of respective filters and also the constitutions of respective filters can be simplified. the reducing of cost and the miniaturizing of the compression processing circuit performing compressions in both directions of horizontal and vertical directions with arbitrary compression ratios.
